On Our Knees for Elbert County

We have been fasting and praying for God to amazing things in Elbert County. We started fasting as a church in January 2023.

“Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.”

 -D.L. Moody

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

1 Chronicles 16:11

"True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that - it is spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth."

-Charles Spurgeon

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

"To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees."

-Billy Graham

“Prayer causes things to happen that wouldn’t happen if you didn’t pray.”

-John Piper

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.

Psalm 34:15

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

1 Peter 3:12

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians 6:18

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Jeremiah 33:3

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

1 John 5:14

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24

"All I know is that when I pray, coincidences happen; and when I don’t pray, they don’t happen."

-Dan Hayes

“It is possible to move men, through God, by prayer alone.”

-Hudson Taylor

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Luke 18:1

“He will put people on our hearts, sometimes burdening us to pray for, speak to, or serve them in some way. When that happens, we should act – not trusting in ourselves – but relying wholly on His power and ability.”

-Frank Viola

“As is the business of tailors to make clothes and cobblers to make shoes, so it is the business of Christians to pray.”

-Martin Luther

“Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.”

-Max Lucado

“To desire revival… and at the same time to neglect prayer and devotion is to wish one way and walk another.”

-A.W. Tozer

“None can believe how powerful prayer is, and what it is able to effect, but those who have learned it by experience.”

-Martin Luther

“There is no way that Christians, in a private capacity, can do so much to promote the work of God and advance the kingdom of Christ as by prayer."

-Jonathan Edwards

“Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.”

-Martin Luther

“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.”

-Samuel Chadwick

“What the church needs today is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men who the Holy Spirit can use—men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Spirit does not come on machinery but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men—men of prayer.”

-E. M. Bounds

“What wings are to a bird and sails to a ship, so is prayer to the soul.”

-Corrie Ten Boom

“Prayer is no petty duty, put into a corner; no piecemeal performance made out of the fragments of time which have been snatched from business and other engagements of life; but it means that the best of our time, the heart of our time and strength must be given.”

-E.M. Bounds
