Elders / Leadership
Elder and Senior Pastor
Pastor John, as he is lovingly known in Kiowa, received Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 9. Five years later at the age of 14 He received the call of the Lord to preach the Gospel. At 17, he left home in Ringgold, Louisiana to enroll at Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas and received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Central Baptist College. At Central Baptist College he not only received a fine education but was introduced to his future life-partner, Miss Debra Dorman. They have been happily married since 1979 and have been blessed with 8 wonderful children, one daughter-in-love, three sons in love, and 14 grandchildren.
Pastor John has served as pastor of Hattieville Baptist Church in Hattieville, Arkansas, Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, Missouri, and Bethel #1 Baptist Church in Rison, Arkansas. He also served as the Director of the Association of Baptist Students at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. In the summer of 1996, Pastor John and his family came to Colorado to plant a church in Kiowa. Since that time Pastor John, Debra and their children have made it their passion to serve Jesus Christ by serving the people of Kiowa and Elbert County.
In his spare time, Pastor John stays involved in the community by coaching high-school basketball. He loves to go on long walks and work in the yard with Debra, and of course spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Elder & Men’s Ministry Director
“PBJ” (as he is affectionately known) has been a volunteer Pastor on staff at Majestic View Church since 1997. Brian is most grateful and blessed to be married for over 35 years (but it still feels like the honeymoon to him 😊) to his wonderful bride Angela and they have 8 amazing children. Each has had the blessed experience of growing up as part of the Majestic View family! My passion is to see people (especially men) not settle for anything less than God’s best in every area of their lives, primarily with regards to their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, marriage and family! Life is very seasonal, and no matter what season of life we may find ourselves in, God is always there and His steadfast love is unconditional! I believe our character is cultivated in the valleys of life and reflected when we’re on the Mountain Tops. I have a strong passion for Men’s Ministry because “when a man gets it, everybody wins”! At the buzzer, I am very thankful that the Lord brought me and my household to help launch this precious body of believers known as Majestic View Church; it has been a true-life game changer and no doubt His best is yet to come! Joshua 1: 8 & 9.
Elder
Jim & Roann were still teenagers when they got married in 1965. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Jim has been a lifelong runner and a lover of mountains, having climbed all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000 ft peaks. For more than 40 years Jim was a photographer and film maker traveling over the world for clients, most of whom were Christian ministries. All during this time Jim has served in lay leadership for both churches and mission organizations. His desire is to see people in Elbert County and around the world realize the truth of Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,”
Elder
Howie and Cari have been married and serving the Lord together for over 35 years. They have 6 children (3 biological and 3 adopted) and 4 grandchildren. They grew up in California but moved to Colorado over 20 years ago. They have a heart for family ministry and love being a part of MVC.
Staff
Children and Youth Pastor
Jonathan joined the MVC team in the Spring of 2022, moving here from New Mexico. His heart is discipleship and his goal for the youth of Majestic View Church is for them to be able to study God’s Word faithfully and be mentored by the adults on his team as well as by more other youth in the group. Additionally, he is leading our kids to be bold to share their faith where ever God has them. Our vibrant and growing children and youth programs are benefiting from his leadership! Jonathan is married to Faith and they have recently added Simeon to their family.
Worship Director
Matthew has always had a deep love for music and an appreciation for the powerful tool that music can be in worshiping our sovereign God. His desire is to help facilitate a time in our services that immediately encourage and allow us to corporately come together in unity with the sole purpose of worshiping our King. He enjoys spending quality time with friends and family as well as coaching volleyball at Kiowa High School.
Director of the Barnabas Ministry
Joseph married his high school sweetheart, Brooke, 2 weeks after they graduated high school in 1995. They have 7 children, and 3 grandchildren. Joseph loves to listen and help people find the pathway to whatever will bring them to the next step that God has for them. Joseph loves strategy games (especially Chess, Pandemic, and Settlers of Catan), puzzles, trips to the zoo, bike rides, walks, and day dreaming.
Office Manager and Financial Secretary
Brenda, with her husband, Les, and 6 children, joined MVC in 2005. While serving in many church related ministries since high school, from children’s summer programs to Sunday morning classes, Awana as both Commander, Director and Leader, and church choir, her love for organization, administration and numbers has been where her employment with several non-profits has been. Whether paying bills, answering emails or listening to a child’s verses in Awana, her goal is to serve God and help others know Him.
Office Secretary and Janitor
Caitlyn has a love for the Lord and His Word and has a heart for learning how to apply her relationship with God to everyday life. She started working for MVC as a secretary in 2020 and enjoys using her knack for organization and administration to help all of the ministries and staff. She enjoys traveling and is passionate about serving in church ministries through AWANA and VBS.

She has a desire to help women draw closer to Jesus through fellowship, discipleship, outreach, and bible study; at this time in her life.
Awana Commanders & Young Adult Directors
Shane & Briana Kelly have a passion for helping kids create a firm foundation throughout their early childhood and teen years and love how Awana provides a way to accomplish that. They continue this passion with MVC Young Adults, studying God’s word one book at a time. They love the outdoors, coffee and seeing new places.
Overcomers Ministry Directors
Colin and Kaitlyn are a church loving couple who grew up in the eastern countryside of Colorado. Colin is a Production Manager, and Kaitlyn is an Orthodontic Assistant. They both grew up in conservative Christian homes and are blessed to have parents that love the Lord and made it a point to make sure all of their children knew Jesus as well. Colin is a recovered alcoholic, nicotine, and drug addict. By the grace of God and with the help of Majestic View Church, he has Overcome. Their heart for Overcomers Outreach is to help others experience the same freedom from addiction that they have. To provide a loving, judgment free place for people to be real and open so they can find freedom through the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Children’s Ministry Director
Denise has worked with MVC children’s ministry for many years, usually behind the scenes creating awesome and unique learning spaces, finding volunteers, keeping our resource closet organized and stocked with supplies, and so much more. She, and her husband Jeff, are important members of our MVC team and you’ll usually find them serving in a variety of ministries.
Elevation Community Center Coordinators
Elevation Children’s Museum
These two have a heart for God and for sharing Him with others. The Children’s Museum is a place for kids to come learn and play through their imaginations. It’s a place for parents to engage with their children on so many levels. God gave Jaron and Jessica this vision many years ago and they are excited to see His plan come alive in providing a place of fun, enjoyment, and fellowship for so many age groups.
Elevation Coffee Bar Coordinator
Bobbie’s heart for people and coffee shines in the cafe! She has a passion for the growth of community and family in our church as we walk together with our Father. Bobbie and her husband Devon have five children Hadley, Sydney, Titus, Teagan, and Delaney. Together they love spending time outside hiking or birdwatching and time with friends.
Facility Personnel
Facility Coordinator
David ensures that there is time for all things important and central to his life, both the Lord and his wife (pictured). When they retired, their business card stated “Younger Seniors Helping Older Seniors”. David continues this motto in the position of Facilities Coordinator as he works with adults of all ages; striving to assist those that wish to utilize the areas within Majestic View Church to their greatest potential and make their planned events become a reality. But, he also works with the MVC youngest in his role as Nursery Coordinator on Sunday mornings.
Safety Team Coordinator
Matt is a retired peace officer with over 26 years of experience. We are living in troubled times, where even the places that were once considered sacred are no longer immune from the dangers of evil. The members of the Safety Team are committed to help provide a safe and secure worship environment to all who enter Majestic View Church. Isaiah 6:8 “I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”
